What is a “vertical tasting” you might ask?
A vertical tasting is when you sample the same wine (grape) over a series of vintages (years).
You will taste 3 or 4 different vintages of the same grape, grown and produced at the same vineyard. Generally, the wines are made the same, with the variable being the climate conditions of each year. The tasting will show how the temperature and rainfall amounts affect the flavor of the wine for each year.
Texas Hills Vineyard will be hosting its 1st Vertical Tasting with our award winning Kick Butt Cab. You will be tasting 5 vintages (years) of KBC Estate – 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 AND 5 vintages of KBC Newsom Vineyard – 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014.
